CellPhone Care’s story began over 20 years ago, not in Australia, but in India, where my father, Avtar, first started repairing mobile phones. His passion for fixing devices and helping people stay connected started long before smartphones became essential.
After moving to Adelaide in 2007, Avtar worked for major mobile repair companies, earning a reputation for his technical expertise and problem solving skills across the industry. It didn’t take long before he became the head technician, trusted to handle the most complex repairs. But he had bigger ambitions – he wanted to create something of his own, a business that put quality, honesty, and customer care first.

A Bold Move - From Home-Based Repairs to a Growing Business
In 2016, Avtar left his job to pursue CellPhone Care full-time, transforming it into a growing company. It started as a home-based repair service, finding its first customers through Gumtree and local Facebook groups. Many of those early customers still trust us today.
As demand grew, it became clear this wasn’t just another repair shop – it was a service people needed. We’ve revived thousands of phones and restored priceless data and memories for our customers.
Expanding to Colonnades - Our Biggest Leap Yet
📍 CellPhone Care in Colonnades Shopping Center
As the business grew, an opportunity arose – opening at Colonnades Shopping Centre, the busiest retail hub in Southern Adelaide. This was a huge challenge – moving from a home-based setup to a high-traffic shopping centre meant facing higher competition, more foot traffic, and scaling our operations while maintaining quality.
To meet demand, we expanded our team, hiring skilled technicians and customer service staff to ensure every customer received expert service and support. The shift to retail and repair allowed us to provide high-quality accessories alongside repairs.
